Our own green dragon

photo green dragon

Here he is celebrating the Year of the Dragon (2012). He was found in an antique store in Niles, California (the original California movie-making capitol) almost thirty years ago. He now hangs on the wall at Rouhe Daoguan, where he protects the white tiger on the opposite wall. The two create the space between, where, according to feng shui, an abundance of chi may be found.

I'd like to identify his age and where he was made. The piece is hooked rather than woven, with rather large yarn, and is about eight feet long. Update: Research indicates that he may be post World War II (just post) "trade goods" from China. More as we learn more.
